Church leaders launch protest

LEADERS of some of Scotland’s largest evangelical churches were today handing in a letter at St Andrew’s House calling for Alex Salmond to support the definition of marriage.

Paul Rees, senior pastor at the city’s Charlotte Baptist Chapel, said: “We have come to show our support for marriage and our steadfast opposition to redefining it in law.

“This is not about legal rights – all the legal rights of marriage are already available to homosexual couples through civil partnerships. This is about redefining marriage.”
