Carrier section makes 600-mile journey to Rosyth

AN 11,200 tonne section of one of the Royal Navy’s under-construction aircraft carrier has set off on its 600-mile journey to the yard where the ship will be assembled.

Lower Block 04, the largest hull section of HMS Prince of Wales, left the BAE Systems’ Govan shipyard in Glasgow yesterday by barge on its journey round the north of Scotland to Rosyth. It will arrive in Fife next Friday afternoon.
