Carmichael takes a bite out of oatcake factory

SCOTTISH Secretary of State Alistair Carmichael today toured the factory of Nairn’s Oatcakes in Edinburgh.

Mr Carmichael, accompanied by Martyn Gray, managing director of the Scottish firm, was visiting after warning against a sudden change in the UK’s approach towards EU migration policy.

Downing Street earlier revealed that it was considering extending the length of time new arrivals from the EU would be able to stay in the UK before claiming benefits.
