Bill Walker suspends appeal against expulsion from SNP

BILL Walker, the MSP who was charged over domestic assault allegations, has agreed to suspend his appeal against expulsion from the SNP.

Mr Walker, 70, who now represents Dunfermline West as an independent, was arrested and charged last week following an investigation by Fife Constabulary.

In a statement, he said: “In light of events, I have agreed with the SNP appeals committee that the process of my appeal should be put on hold until the conclusion of any possible court proceedings.

“As matters are now in the hands of the judicial system, I can make no further comment at this stage.”

He intends to continue sitting as an MSP.
