Aircraft carrier jobs warning

LABOUR has warned thousands of jobs could be at risk after Scotland Office minister David Mundell refused to guarantee the order for aircraft carriers to be built at Rosyth and on the Clyde.

In answer to a question from Labour MP Ian Davidson in the House of Commons, Mr Mundell said it would be "wrong to prejudge" where the axe would fall on defence spending.

Labour MSP Pauline McNeill said: "Thousands of jobs in Glasgow and Fife are at risk because of the Lib Dem-Tory refusal to guarantee the carrier contracts."
