Politicians to visit school

PUPILS studying politics will have the chance to present pressing questions to two politicians when they visit a city school.

SNP constituency MSP for Edinburgh Pentlands, Gordon MacDonald, was set to visit Merchiston Castle School today while Ruth Davidson, leader of the Scottish Conservatives, will give a talk on February 1.

The events have been organised for pupils studying A-level government and politics but are open to the whole school.

The politicians will give talks lasting around 30 minutes and will afterwards take questions.

Mr MacDonald was expected to focus on his party’s plans for the upcoming referendum, whilst Ms Davidson is due to talk more generally about politics.
