Police warning over fake £20 notes in city

POLICE are warning the public to be on the lookout for fake £20 notes in circulation across the Capital.

The forgeries are said to leave "inky smudges" on shoppers' fingers and are understood to have been discovered by many people as they make purchases.

PC Dane Harrison, from the force's central beat area, called on all city residents to be aware of the forgeries, stressing that if the note feels unusual, there is a chance it could be a fake.
