Police uncover stash of stolen garden gnomes

POLICE have recovered a stash of garden gnomes believed to have been stolen in the Aberdeenshire area.

Three men are being questioned following the discovery of 33 gnomes and garden ornaments from a vehicle stopped in the Banff area early yesterdaY.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “There are a total of 33 gnomes and garden ornaments that are believed to have been taken from a variety of addresses within the Aberdeenshire area overnight between Wednesday, 2 April 2014 and Thursday, 3 April 2014.

“We are keen to trace the owners of these items and anyone who may be missing any such items is requested to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting GP-20140403-0036.”
