Police step up hunt for sex attacker

Extra police have been out on foot patrol after a sexual assault on a schoolgirl.

The incident happened in the Torry area of Aberdeen at about 10pm on Monday.

Grampian Police said the 15-year-old girl was approached by a man in the area of Balnagask Road and Abbey Place, and was then sexually assaulted.

He is described as aged between 35 and 45, about 5ft 2in tall and of muscular build, with balding brown hair and a chubby face.

Officers are viewing CCTV images and conducting house-to-house inquiries as part of their investigation into the attack.

Detective Inspector Cammy Preston, who is leading the inquiry, hopes to establish more details about a car involved in the incident.

He said: “The vehicle is believed to be a silver five-door people-carrier type vehicle.”
