Police seek teens who broke into £30m Dundee pool

POLICE are hunting for two teenagers who went for an early morning dip in Dundee’s new state-of-the art swimming pool - three weeks before it is scheduled to open.

The teenagers broke into the city’s new £31.5 million Olympia pool on 21 May but is understood the incident only came to light in the past few days.

The new facility, which will replace the former Olympic Centre on Dundee’s Waterfront, has a 50 metre competition pool, wave pool, rapid river, dive pool, flumes and fitness suite.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We are aware of this incident and our inquiries are ongoing.”

A Dundee City Council spokesman said: “We are aware that a report was made to police by the contractor who was responsible for the building at the time.”
