DC Emma Low said: “I must stress that the youngster involved was not hurt or affected in anyway, but his mother felt it was the right thing to do to contact Police.”

“We have been carrying out extensive enquiries since to establish exactly what happened and I would ask anyone who was in the area around the time in question and thinks they have information which could help to please get in touch.

“In particular if you saw a white man described as being between 30-35-years-old with light-coloured hair, around 5ft 9, and of a larger build. “He had a local accent and was wearing an orange hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and was carrying a blue plastic bag.

“I would also ask that if you recognise yourself to be this man, please make contact with us as soon as possible so we can speak to you.

“Anyone with information should contact Police on 101 quoting ref. no. 2132 of March 28 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would like to help but would prefer to remain anonymous.”
