Police searching for Stirling student find body

THE body of a student missing for three months has been found in woods near his university.

David O’Halloran vanished in the early hours of 18 January after heading for the Stirling University campus after a night out with friends. The 18-year-old, from Kilmaurs, Ayrshire, had earlier visited a Stirling nightclub and was last seen in Bridge of Allan shortly after 2am.

His mother, Donna O’Halloran, 42, said on Facebook that his body had been found. She posted: “After phoning all our family and friends, I have to give the sad yet relieving news that our David’s body has been found. Extraction and forensics have to be carried out before we can say it is David’s body for 100 percent but the clothing matches what David was wearing when he was last seen.”

It is understood the body was found in the Mine Woods in Bridge of Allan.
