Police search for missing Aberdeen boy Mitchell Johnston

Police have launched a helicopter and river search for a teenager who went missing from his Aberdeen home.

16 year-old Mitchell Johnston was last seen in the Heathryfold area at around 4.30am on Friday.

A helicopter began searching the Danestone area at 9.30am while kayakers were also deployed on the River Don.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are appealing for information to help trace Mitchell Johnston.

“Mitchell is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall with short dark hair and when he was last seen he was wearing a North Face jacket and grey trousers.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.”
