Meanwhile, a crofter who was reported missing on Shetland over a week ago has been found safe and well in the Lerwick area.

Colin Arnot, 52, was reported missing from his home in North Roe on the Shetland mainland on Monday 25 November. At the height of the search a search and rescue helicopter was deployed, together with teams from Shetland Coastguard, in an effort to trace the missing man.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said today: “Police can report that following extensive searches and inquiry to trace missing man, Colin Arnot, he has now been safely traced in the Lerwick area.

“The public and media are thanked for their assistance. No further details are available.”
