Police Scotland have launched a search for a 55 year-old woman who has been missing from her home in Aberdeen since Wednesday night.

An RAF search and rescue helicopter is aiding police search teams trying to trace Susan Stewart, who has been reported missing from her home in the Dyce area of Aberdeen.

She is described as being around 5ft 5ins tall of medium build with light brown tinted shoulder length hair. She may be wearing a black jacket with a yellow motif on the sleeve and sometimes wears glasses.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Susan was last seen by a family member at her home address on Wednesday evening.”

Inspector Jackie Craig, who is leading the search, said: “It is out of character for Susan to go missing and we are becoming increasingly anxious to trace her. I would appeal for her to get in touch either with us or with a family member to confirm that she is safe and well.

“Similarly, we would encourage anyone who may have seen her either overnight or today to contact us urgently by calling 101.”
