Police reveal drunk stats

POLICE arrested 244 people for being drunk and incapable in the force area last year, new figures have shown.

Another 14 were charged with being drunk and trying to enter a licensed premises, according to figures from last April to March.

Officers also made 56 arrests for patrons being disorderly inside a licensed premises while 111 people were charged for refusing to leave a venue. Seven people were charged with being drunk inside a sports ground or while attempting to gain entry.
