Police plea after OAP dies

A PENSIONER who was knocked down by a car in a busy town centre has died from his injuries in hospital.

Robert Milton, 76, from Keith, Banffshire, was taken by ambulance to hospital on Saturday morning after he was struck by a black Land Rover Discovery in the town's Reidhaven Square.

A spokesman for Grampian Police yesterday confirmed that the pensioner had subsequently died from his injuries at Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin. He said: "We are continuing our inquiries and would appeal to anyone who has any information concerning the collision to contact Grampian Police."

He added: "At the time of the incident a bus was stationary in the area and it is our understanding that occupants of this bus may have seen what happened.

"We would appeal to anyone on this bus or indeed anyone in the area who witnessed the collision to contact the police."
