Police name driver killed in Highland lorry crash

Police have named a driver who was killed when three lorries collided on the main route to the Highlands.

Gordon Cooper, 57, from Montrose died at the scene of the accident on the A9 north of Dunkeld in Perthshire on Thursday.

A 23-year-old man driving an empty tanker also suffered serious leg injuries in the smash at around 5.20am.

Tayside Police said the articulated tanker, which was travelling north, collided with a McKay of Montrose lorry heading south.

The driver of a third lorry involved in the collision was not hurt.
