Police name crash cyclist

Police have identified the cyclist killed in a road collision on Corstorphine Road on Monday as Bryan Simons.

In a statement, police said Mr Simons, 40, from Saughton Park, Edinburgh was killed when he was involved in a collision with a Hackney cab at around 9.15am.

Mr Simons is the fourth fatality in the space of a year on Edinburgh’s roads, and his death has sparked calls for a safety summit.

Police are still appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any further information to contact them on 0131-311 3131.
