Police name bodies found in Lothians

DETECTIVES have named the two bodies found in separate locations in the Lothians.

Police have confirmed that a body discovered in the Water of Leith in Balerno yesterday morning was that of missing man David Davies.

Mr Davies, 60, of Craiglockhart Dell in Edinburgh had been reported missing after he was last seen on Monday, March 5, in the Morningside area of the Capital.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Officers also confirmed the identity of the man whose body was discovered in farmland near Tranent on Saturday, as 45-year-old Bruce Reynolds, of Westbank Road, Macmerry.

In a statement, police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances, but said inquiries were ongoing in order to establish the full circumstances of his death.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
