Police name 17-year-old killed in Perthshire car crash

A TEENAGER killed in a head-on crash between a van and a car which left two men seriously injured was named by police today.

Storm Andrews, who was 17 and was driving the car, died at the scene.

His front seat passenger, an 18-year-old man, is in a critical condition at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after the crash in Perthshire yesterday.

He had to be cut free from the car by firefighters.

The 50-year-old-man driving the van is also in a critical condition in the same hospital.

The crash happened shortly after 6.30am yesterday on the A93 Perth Road, five miles south of Blairgowrie, near Meikleour, Tayside Police said.

Tayside Police said dead driver was from Blacklunans, Blairgowrie.

A spokesman for the force said: "Storm was driving a blue Austin Mini City car northwards on the A93 when he was involved in a head-on collision with a white Ford Fiesta van travelling south on a stretch of the road known locally as the Meikleour straight."
