Police launch public survey

POLICE are urging members of the public to take part in a new survey to gauge their views on policing and crime in the Lothians.

The force’s Public Perception Survey will be used to identify particular problems in different areas, and inform priorities for improvement.

The 2010 survey revealed that thousands of crimes were going unreported every year, with hate crime and antisocial behaviour among the top unreported offences.

A police spokesman said: “The results at ward level will allow the force to identify areas for improvement locally.”
