Police launch mugger hunt

A WOMAN was shoved to the ground by a mugger after she tried to stop him stealing her handbag.

The 33-year-old was walking in Learmonth Terrace in the New Town in the early hours of Saturday morning when the suspect grabbed the bag from her shoulder.

The man was last seen in Learmonth View. The attacker was white, 20 to 25 years old, 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in tall, and wearing a light grey hooded top with a red tartan scarf around the lower half of his face.

A police spokesman said: "The victim wasn't injured, however she was left shaken as a result and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace the suspect."
