Police issue witness plea

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was indecently assaulted.

The 19-year-old woman and her friend were walking along Edinburgh Road in Bathgate at about 9.35pm on April 20 when they were approached by a man. When the man was close he grabbed the victim’s leg and ran off.

Inquiries are at an early stage, with officers working on CCTV footage of the area.

The suspect is described as five feet four and balding with hair at the sides. He was carrying a white plastic bag and may have had dark or tanned skin.
