Police investigating ‘suspicious’ fires at Fife paper mill

POLICE are investigating “suspicious” fires at a paper mill.

Fire crews discovered a series of fires when they arrived at the Tullis Russell Paper Mill complex in Glenrothes, Fife, at around 3.40am today.

At the height of the incident around 40 firefighters were dealing with the blaze.

The fires have since been brought under control and no-one has been injured.

Fife Constabulary and Fife Fire and Rescue Service will carry out a joint investigation into the incident.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Dursely said: “It is too early to speculate on the cause of the fires at this time however as there a number of seats of fire the incident is being treated as suspicious.

“Fire officers are still currently working within the area and a joint enquiry with Fife Constabulary will be carried out to ascertain the cause.”
