Police investigating death of Dundee student

TAYSIDE Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of a talented young model whose body was found in her flat in the west end of Dundee.

The body of 25 year-old Caoimhe Gault, a mental health student at Abertay University, was discovered at her flat in the city’s Scott Street last Friday.

The aspiring part time model, who was originally from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland, was understood to have been due to start a new job at a hospital in London within the next few weeks.

Her distraught mother Tara Gault posted a poignant message on Twitter that the “soul of her life” had died. She stated: “My heart is broken – she was my world. I’ve lost my daughter, friend and soul of my life.

“She was ready to take on the world, but it was not to be RIP.”

An Abertay University spokesman said: “The university is very sorry to hear of this tragic death, and our thoughts are with Caoimhe’s friends and family at this difficult time.”

Tayside Police are continuing their enquiries into the young student’s tragic death. But it is understood that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A force spokeswoman said: “We can confirm we attended at Scott Street in Dundee on Friday, 1 March, following the sudden death of a 25 year-old woman. This death is being treated as unexplained and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
