Police hunt sex attacker

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 25-year-old man after a woman was sexually assaulted as she walked home following a night out.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries following the assault in Pilrig Park early on Sunday.

She was discovered in a children’s play area at 6am by members of the public.

Police said their inquiries had identified a man who is of interest to the investigation and they were currently trying to establish his whereabouts.

They added that no other individuals were being sought.
