Police hunt man who robbed Dundee pensioner in car

TAYSIDE Police are hunting a thief who callously robbed a 75 year-old pensioner as she sat in a car in a Dundee street.

He snatched her handbag as she sat in the passenger seat of car parked on the city’s Balmerino Road at around 10.10am on Monday morning.

A force spokesman said: “The male approached the female who was a passenger in a small silver vehicle and stole her handbag and contents. The victim was shaken as a result of the incident, but uninjured.

“The male was then last seen running west along Balmerino Road where he was lost to view. He is described as being approximately 5ft 9n ins tall, of dirty appearance, wearing a light brown

jacket.”

He added: “Detectives are carrying out door to door enquiries in the area and also looking at police and private CCTV.”
