Police host youth talks

AROUND 200 teenagers have taken part in an event at a city high school to give their opinions on how police should interact with young people.

The 15 to 17-year-olds gathered for the Your Future, Your Police session at Broughton High.

John Davidson, subject of the 1989 documentary John’s Not Mad, was guest speaker. He talked about how having severe Tourette’s syndrome led to misunderstandings with police.

Deputy Chief Constable Steve Allen said: “This type of event allows us to engage with our young people in a positive environment.”
