Police find bodies of two women

A WOMAN’S body has been found on a Highland beach, police have said.

The discovery was made at Culbin Sands, around four miles east of Nairn, on Saturday evening.

Northern Constabulary said formal identification is still to take place but it is thought to be missing woman Melinda Simpson. Her family has been informed.

The 43-year-old was last seen walking away from Inverness city centre on 21 March.

Meanwhile, police searching for a Perthshire woman missing for more than a month are investigating the discovery of a female body in woodland.

Elizabeth Stevenson, 77, from Pitlochry, was last seen in the Faskally Bridge area on 21 February. Police said the family of Ms Stevenson is being kept informed.
