Police evacuate number of properties as unexploded bomb discovered in Kinross

Police Scotland has announced that ‘a number of properties’ have been evacuated after what is believed to be an ‘unexploded’ bomb was found in a residential area of the town Milnathort in Kinross-shire.

Victoria Avenue in Milnathort has been cordoned off by the Police and a specialist team is currently examining the ‘ordnance device.’

A ‘number of properties’ have been evacuated ‘as a precaution.’

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance in Milnathort after what is believed to be an unexploded ordnance device was found in the Victoria Avenue area."A cordon remains in place while specialist teams examine the item.

"A number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
