Police chief takes home £150k salary

CHIEF Constable David Strang earned more than £150,000 in salary and allowances during the last year.

Mr Strang was paid 150,090 for 2010-11, although he has continued to refuse any bonuses since taking over as head of Lothian and Borders Police in 2007.

Deputy Chief Constable Steve Allen received 124,174 in salary and allowances between last April and March.

Assistant Chief Constable Iain Livingstone received 107,490 over the year while former Assistant Chief Constable Mike McCormick, who recently moved to Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary, received 105,428.

The trio have also refused any bonuses.
