Police chief set for trial

A CHIEF Inspector with Lothian and Borders Police will stand trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court next month on charges under the Data Protection Act.

Allison Strachan, 50, from Edinburgh was not present in court today when her defence solicitor, Fergus Christie, said his client was maintaining her not guilty plea to four charges of accessing information on the Force’s computers without authority.

The charges allege that she accessed information between November 2006 and May 2010 at various police stations in the Force area, including the headquarters at Fettes.
