Mystery surrounds the identity of a Far Eastern woman who was seriously injured after plunging from a burning three-storey flat in Perth town centre last week.

Officers investigating the fire at the property at about 9:10pm on 8 November are asking for assistance in identifying the woman, believed to be of Chinese or Vietnamese origin and in her fifties. She remains in a critical condition in Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital.

It is thought she tried to climb 30ft down a drainpipe to flee the flames before falling to the ground. While her identity is unknown, it is believed she has links to London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Norfolk, Sussex and Glasgow.

Neighbours said she had only lived in the apartment for around a week before the fire.
