Police appeal after woman's bag snatched

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 51-year-old woman had her handbag snatched by two men.

The incident happened at around 8:40pm on Monday in Manor Place.

The woman was walking between Chester Street and Rothesay Place when two men approached her and grabbed her handbag from her shoulder.

The suspects then made off towards the junction of Chester Street and Manor Place.

The first suspect is described as white, 5ft 6in tall, with a skinny build. He was wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.

The second suspect was white, taller than the first suspect, with light hair. He was also wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.

A police spokesman said: "While uninjured, this was still an upsetting incident for the woman to endure.

"We are eager to speak to anyone who can help us locate those responsible and would appeal for anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious to contact police immediately."
