Police appeal after £1000 robbery at flat

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after items with a combined value of more than £1000 were stolen from a flat.

A laptop computer and an archery set were taken during a raid on a property in Clerk Street on Wednesday between 8am and 7pm.

Officers are keen to speak to two men seen in the common stair of the building at around 6pm that evening.

Both men are described as white, 5ft 8in tall with thin builds, dark hair and wearing dark clothing.

The archery set, which contained a red 6ft bow, six black arrows and ten grey carbon arrows, is valued at around £700 while the laptop is valued at around £450.

Sergeant James Berry said: “We are still trying to establish how those responsible for this theft gained entry to the property and are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious. Similarly, anyone who can help identify and trace the two men who were within the close is also asked to get in touch.”
