THE Tayside Division of Police Scotland have appealed for information after a 36-year old man sustained facial injuries in an attack in Methven Street, Perth, on Sunday.

The man was assaulted as he left the alleyway that runs from the rear car park of Clydesbank Bank and out on Methven Street at around 5pm.

The attacker was being accompanied by two women when the man was assaulted.

A force spokesman said: “The victim was approached by a man, who engaged him in conversation before repeatedly assaulting him. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for a facial injury as a result of the incident.”

He continued: “The suspect is described as being mid to late 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build with short dark-coloured hair. The man was wearing an olive green-coloured jacket, dark-coloured jeans and white-coloured trainers.

“He was in the company of two women at the time of the assault. One of the women is described as having long mousey brown-coloured hair and wearing a leather jacket. The other is described as wearing dark-coloured clothing and had dark-coloured hair which was tied up. Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who has information regarding the assault or anyone who may have been in Methven Street, near to the Clydesbank Bank at the time of the incident or who may have seen the described man and the two women.”
