Police appeal after crashes

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two road accidents over the weekend.

A 19-year-old man was rushed to hospital on Saturday after he sustained “significant injuries” following an accident in Nicolson Square.

A woman, aged 20, was also hurt in the incident, which occurred at around 4.50pm as they walked in the busy 
thoroughfare.

The man was initially taken to the ERI by ambulance and was later transferred to the Western General Hospital.

The driver of a blue VW Passat stopped at the scene.

Officers launched another witness appeal after an elderly man was rushed to hospital following a collision in East Whitburn, West Lothian, at 11.40pm on Saturday.
