Poet revisits rape trauma

THE latest volume of work by a local poet is set to revisit the trauma of her teenage rape.

Manana Attitude, by Nicole Carter, features new poems and short stories, including one about running away from a teenage rape.

Last year, the Evening News told how Miss Carter, 35, from Penicuik, put her life back on track following years of depression stemming from teenage drug use and association with dealers, one of whom raped her when she was just 15.

The new volume will be available from The Scottish Poetry Library and city libraries.
