Plots thicken with funding

GREEN-FINGERED residents of the Capital are set to benefit from a commitment to increase the amount of land used for growing plants, fruit and vegetables, such as allotments, orchards and gardens.

Environment Minister Stewart Stevenson has announced a £600,000 package of support for the Central Scotland Green Network.

Keith Geddes, the network’s chair, said: “We have already supported 13 growing and orchard projects since 2010.”
