Plea to shop locally

Midlothian residents are being asked to shop locally in the run-up to Christmas.

An upgrade of Dalkeith High Street has recently been completed ,while a £62,000 facelift of Bonnyrigg Town Centre has also been agreed.

Midlothian councillor Russell Imrie said: “We all know that the wider economy is subdued at the moment – with the retail sector in particular struggling to attract shoppers as consumers delay or cancel spending plans. So we’re doing all we can to help residents and businesses alike.”
