Pet celebrated as the double of the Capital’s most famous dog passes away after tumour takes hold

For years he was known as Bluefriars Bobby by virtue of his uncanny resemblance to the Capital’s most famous canine personage.

But the owners and fans of Blue the Yorkshire terrier have been left devastated after the little dog passed away last week.

Kit and John Lovie, of North Berwick, made the decision to have Blue put to sleep after they were told by a vet that a tumour growing inside him had become “the size of an orange”.

Blue, who became the mascot of the One o’Clock Gun Association, was well-known for his resemblance to Greyfriars Bobby and would take part in ceremonies commemorating the Skye terrier.
