Vulnerable 80-year-old man with Alzheimer's reported missing from his home in Motherwell

Police Scotland are currently searching for an 80-year-old man with Alzheimer’s who went missing from his home in North Lanarkshire yesterday.

Jim Cuthbertson was last seen at his home address on Leyland Road in Motherwell at around 10.30pm on Sunday, October 19.

Police have described him as white, well- built and around 5ft 7ins in height.

An identifiable characteristic of Jim highlighted by Police Scotland is that he is stooped over when walking.

Mr Cuthbertson is believed to be wearing a blue hoodie, blue trousers and blue shoes.

Police are urging anyone who has any information about his whereabouts to come forward urgently.

Inspector David Doherty from Motherwell Police Station said: “Jim has Alzheimer's and his family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Jim, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact police via 101 quoting incident number 0544 of 19 October.”
