Police showed him around their police car and let him film the blue lights before they headed off.

They tweeted: “Middle of the operation today, diverted to a concern for welfare of a male on an over bridge of the A75 just into @policescotland where we found an autistic lad filming trucks and waving.

“We showed him around the Skoda and let him film the blues then it was back to it. #ManyHats.”

The A75 is a Scottish road that goes from Gretna Green, along the border with England then up to Stranraer.
