Police confirm body found in Aberdeen is of missing David MacLeod

Officers said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Police have confirmed that a body found in woodland in Aberdeen is that of missing teenager David MacLeod.

The 18-year-old had been reported missing from his home in the city on Friday, June 19.

A body was discovered in the wooded area near Granholm Drive, Aberdeen, on Wednesday, June 24.

Officers said a formal identification has taken place, and that David’s have been informed.

They said his death was not being treated as suspicious.

Inspector George Nixon, from North East Division, said: "Our thoughts are very much with David's family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“I would like to thank everyone who shared our earlier appeals for information and assisted with enquiries."
