His first physical challenge will involve high speed water activities at Loch Earn. The minister will be presented with a wetsuit and goggles by two men posing as Ant and Dec. A succession of golden envelopes will provide him with the details to his challenges.

He will also take part in random acts of kindness such as giving out chocolate bars to passengers on a bus to Aberdeen.

Over the next five days minister Bircham will take orders from his team at home in Glencarse and a Facebook audience.

Each day the highest bidder will get to suggest a challenge for him – the more donations he receives the more challenges he will have to do.

His wife Anthea said “We have prearranged some of the places he will go and the acts of kindness, but Marc doesn’t know anything about it.”
