Luxury home from The Nest available for holiday rental

It is a picturesque lochside home which has captured the attention of viewers of hit Scottish BBC drama The Nest.

Now it has emerged that TV fans can live out their dreams of occupying the same space as characters Emily and Dan by renting the five-bedroom property for £3,059 a week.

The house is the fictional home of a couple, played by Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle and Line of Duty’s Martin Compston, who are desperately hoping to have a baby in the emotional thriller currently airing on BBC One.

When it is not being used as a film set, waterside property Cape Cove, on the Rosneath Peninsula near Helensburgh, is on offer as a holiday rental.The house, which boasts a private pebble beach terrace with views and an outdoor hot tub, as well as floor-to-ceiling glass windows showcasing views of Loch Long and the national park, is located on the shores of Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, just a few miles to the west of Helensburgh.

It also offers visitors five decked terraces and a fire pit.

Mirren Mack, who plays a young teenage mother on the show, yesterday spoke about filming the programme in Scotland.

She said: “One of the things I loved most about filming it was that it was a beautiful showcase of Glasgow. There’s one point when I’m on a rooftop looking out over this amazing city.

“It was really emotional because this part of Scotland is so rich with life and I’m standing there after a couple of years at drama school, finally doing what I love more than anything else in the world, here in this place that I also love.”

She added: “I was such a mess that I actually started to cry.” She also aired her previous fears about being “different” to other up-and-coming actors due to her modest background.
