Carlyle misses interview after nose surgery

ROBERT Carlyle has revealed that a nose operation has forced him to pull out of an appearance at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The Full Monty and Trainspotting star had been due to take part at an In Person interview event this weekend.

The chance to hear Carlyle talk about his acting career was seen as one of the main draws of this year’s programme.

Yesterday, the actor told how he had a large growth on his nose which had to be removed through surgery. He is recovering at home and has thanked well-wishers for their support.

The 51-year-old, in a message posted on Twitter, said: “Thank you to everyone for their concern and best wishes. I had an operation last week to remove a Polyp from my nose.

“Thankfully the op was successful and I’m now recovering at home. Its just unfortunate that my int[erview] at EIFF came a little too soon.”
