A737: Motorcycle crash has left a man in hospital with serious injuries

The incident happened on Saturday on the A737.

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash while on his motorcycle in North Ayrshire.

The 52-year-old was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle travelling north on the A737 when he was involved in a collision with a grey Mini Cooper.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

The female driver of the car was not injured.

The incident happened around 5.30 pm on Saturday, September 26 near Beith at the junction with the B777 and the road was closed for two hours after for the crash investigation to take place.

Sergeant Ian Thornton of Ayrshire Road Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the crash to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2826 of September 26, 2020.
