Pensioner charged with alleged indecent assault

A PENSIONER has been arrested and charged with an alleged indecent assault on a woman at a bus stop on Lothian Road.The 73-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Officers carried out enquiries within the city centre after a 33-year-old woman reported being assaulted near the junction with Kingstables Road at around 8.50am on Tuesday.

Police are keen to trace a female member of the public who checked on the woman’s welfare and may have witnessed the incident take place.

A spokesman said: “She is asked to come forward immediately.”
